Dress Code

The dress code in the clubhouse is smart casual although some social events may have specific requirements. Please dress appropriately and note that scruffy or torn clothing is not considered suitable.


The following items are not permitted:
• Spiked golf shoes
• Flip flops
• Football tops
• Clothing with improper wording/logos


Shoe protectors are available at the entrance to the clubhouse for use with muddy footwear. Smart denims are permitted. Coats, hats, and other outdoor items should be placed in a cloakroom or locker*.


Staff may ask members or guests to change/remove items of non-permitted clothing and we kindly request anyone asked to respect this.

 Hats must not be worn inside the clubhouse 

General Guidelines

Mobile Phones

Mobile phones and other multimedia devices are permitted but must be on SILENT at all times.

Voice calls on mobile phones should only be made in the telephone booth by the front door. No music or video streaming. The Wi-Fi area is in the Cocktail Bar.

Children

Children Under 10 are allowed in The Peter Thomson Suite restrictions may apply during a function.  

Children under 10 are only allowed in the Reading Room section of the Main Lounge (they may only accompany an adult into the bar area while an order is placed. If the reading room is occupied please ask a member of staff who will advise you where to sit. If all the other areas are occupied this maybe in the main bar area away from the bar.

All children under 18 (unless members) should be accompanied by an adult who is responsible for their behaviour.

 Children must be supervised at all times. 

 

Guests

  • Ordinary Members may sign in up to 5 guests
  • House Members may sign in up to 3 guests
  • Junior Members may sign in up to 2 guests
     

Upon arrival, guests must sign in to the Visitors Book, situated on the table at the Gibson Place main entrance.

The introducing Member must be present in the Clubhouse for the duration of the guests’ visit in the Club.

 

Culture

The Club fosters a culture of friendliness.  Please introduce yourself to other members you have not met before and make them feel welcome. If space permits please invite single members to join a group so that they only sit alone if they wish to do so.
