Inter-club Matches

The New Golf Club has been privileged to play annual matches against a number of famous golf clubs since the 1960's. These matches range from the keen rivalry of the scratch match against the St Andrews Club for the Bute Trophy to the fellowship of inter-club games which are open to all handicaps.

Inter-club matches are played on a bi-annual home and away basis against the following opposition;  Blairgowrie, Dun Ochil (Gleneagles), North Berwick, Royal Aberdeen, St Regulus Ladies, St Rule Ladies.

Carnoustie Caledonia home and away each year.

The home matches are played on the Old, New, Jubilee, Eden, Strathtyrum and Castle courses.

Any Member wishing to be considered to represent the Club in an inter-club match can simply add his name to the Entry Lists on the Inter-Club Noticeboard at the course-side doors. Players are asked to pay a small fee to cover transport and expenses. It is expected that players wear a blazer and Club tie before and after a match, and it is preferred if a Club shirt or jersey is worn on the course.
